Time flies when your AREN'T having fun...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh - alas - my crafty days as a SAHM are finally over... My hubby's company has been cutting back his hours, so I am once again in the land of the working mommies after 5 years at home. I was fortunate enough to find a Management position with a local family fun center. The hours are quite late, but it's a job and I am happy to have found one with such a great company... I do miss my kids though - I didn't realize it would physically hurt me to be away from them... I know it will get better as time goes on, but man - this is pure torture!! Sniff, Sniff...

So just as I am going back to work - I learn that I made a card design team that I had applied for in January. I am so happy but I am having a hard time finding crafty time. Luckily, I am only committed to designing 2x per month, so I know I can make it work. I am designing for My Sketch World for Lucy Chesna. I have been a follower of her sketches for some time now, and she is finally moving her site to a chat style forum with a gallery, so that is exciting to be a part of. Be sure to check it out for sketch inspiration for cards and scrap pages...

Here is a Valentine I made for an online swap recently using a sketch from My Sketch World. It was for Sam, and she loved it! I did a lot of distressing, stamping, faux stitching, and I used a pretty doily and pearl stick pin for added texture.

FINALLY! I found a little time to scrap - and I am glad that I did. I love the simplicity of this layout, because it tells such a story for me in my memory. The twins were part of a Christmas Pageant in Preschool, and it was such a hilarious night. The kids all looked so sweet in their little costumes - but they made the mistake of putting Jake right next to the microphone stand. Of course, he was grabbing it and "talking" into it during the whole performance. Not singing, mind you, but talking. Saying something about how, "you know that baby Jesus over there is not a real one" and "I am a Shepherd and these are my sheep" and stuff like that... I had to grab a spot Criss Cross Applesauce in the front row to get him to stop it. It was hard to scold him and not laugh - I am sure you have all had times like that with your kids. You try so hard to be stern, but you have to turn your face away to hide your laughter.

And the thumbs up - Jake was on that thumbs up kick for like a year... it was totally funny because he thought that is what the "cool guys" do... Sammie was one of the 3 Kings, and he was begging to keep his crown and "gift" for baby Jesus. It really was a memorable night, and I am glad to have finally gotten these pictures in the book...

This is from my most recent installment in the Got Sketch series 103. It is almost over, and I am just getting started scrapping... grrr...

Thanks for checking in, and wish me luck on trying to be Supermom - with work, home, and the kids... I don't know how you all do it - but it seems impossible right now...
